1. Text Tools

1.1. Text to TIN Surface

Command: TextToTinSurface
This command creates a TIN surface from text objects. The Z values of the created surface points match the numeric content values of the selected text objects.

After creating the surface, the selected text objects remain unchanged, and the created surface is independent of the selected text objects.

Following are the steps to use this command:

  1. From the ribbon, choose Z-Wizard tab ➪ Text Tools panel ➪ Text to TIN Surface (you can also type the command TextToTinSurface in the command bar).
  2. At the Select objects prompt, select the text objects you want to use their contents as Z values.
  3. (Note: Any objects other than the text objects will be automatically filtered out from the selection.)
  4. At the Enter surface name prompt, type the name you want to assign to the created surface.

1.2. Text to COGO Point

Command: TextToCOGOPoint
This command creates COGO points at the locations of text objects. The Z values of the created points match the numeric content values of their corresponding text objects.

After creating the points, the selected text objects remain unchanged, and the created points are independent of the selected text objects.

Following are the steps to use this command:

  1. From the ribbon, choose Z-Wizard tab ➪ Text Tools panel ➪ Text to COGO Point (you can also type the command TextToCOGOPoint in the command bar).
  2. At the Select objects prompt, select the text objects you want to use their contents as Z values.
  3. (Note: Any objects other than the text objects will be automatically filtered out from the selection.)
  4. At the Enter description prompt, type the description you want to assign to the created point(s).

1.3. Text to ACAD Point

Command: TextToACADPoint
This command creates AutoCAD point objects at the locations of text objects. The Z values of the created points match the numeric content values of their corresponding text objects.

After creating the points, the selected text objects remain unchanged, and the created points are independent of the selected text objects.

Following are the steps to use this command:

  1. From the ribbon, choose Z-Wizard tab ➪ Text Tools panel ➪ Text to ACAD Point (you can also type the command TextToACADPoint in the command bar).
  2. At the Select objects prompt, select the text objects you want to use their contents as Z values.
  3. (Note: Any objects other than the text objects will be automatically filtered out from the selection.)

2.1. COGO Points from TIN Surface

Command: COGOPointsFromTinSurface
This command creates COGO points from the points of a TIN surface.

After creating the COGO points, the selected surface remains unchanged, and the created COGO points are independent of the selected surface.

  1. From the ribbon, choose Z-Wizard tab ➪ Surface Tools panel ➪ COGO Points from TIN Surface (you can also type the command COGOPointsFromTinSurface in the command bar).
  2. At the Enter description prompt, type the description you want to assign to the created points.

2.2. ACAD Points from TIN Surface

Command: ACADPointsFromTinSurface
This command creates AutoCAD point objects from the points of a TIN surface.

After creating the point objects, the selected surface remains unchanged, and the created point objects are independent of the selected surface.
